Is there a tool that fixes AI hallucinations?
Short answer: yes, for everything that can be checked. No tool eliminates all hallucinations, because no AI is infallible. But there are tools that verify every answer before you use it, correct what can be calculated, and flag what couldn't be verified. LIA Engine is one of them.
If you're not yet sure what a hallucination is, start with What are AI hallucinations? Here we get practical: what you can do, and with what.
Can AI hallucinations be fixed?
It depends on what we mean by fixed:
- An AI that never makes mistakes: no. No provider has achieved that, not even with the newest versions.
- An AI that makes fewer mistakes: yes, by giving it the data instead of asking it to remember, and by asking for a specific format.
- Keeping errors out of your work: yes. That means checking the answer before you use it, and that can be automated.
What kinds of tools exist
There are several families, and each one solves a different part of the problem:
- Giving the AI context (known as RAG): the AI answers with your documents in view. It reduces errors but doesn't eliminate them: it can misread or mix up data.
- Format validators: they check that the answer has the requested shape, for example a JSON with certain fields. Useful, but they can't tell whether the number inside is right.
- One AI reviewing another: a second AI judges whether the answer is correct. It helps, but it can be wrong too, and its judgment can't be verified.
- Human review: the most reliable for judgment calls and opinions, but slow and expensive at hundreds of answers a day.
- Code-based verification against your data: it checks what can be checked, exactly and repeatably. That's what LIA Engine does.
Is there an AI hallucination detection tool?
Yes, and the difference is how it detects. LIA Engine doesn't ask another AI whether the answer «looks» right: it compares it with code against your data and against what you asked for. So when something is wrong, it tells you exactly what: «the total is 420,650 and your data gives 418,500», «the subtotal field is missing», «the arrow to Certificate comes out of the wrong box».
What it checks today, among other things:
- Calculations and totals, with exact arithmetic and no rounding errors.
- Invoices and taxes: line items, discounts, tax rates, withholdings and totals.
- Data against your spreadsheet (Excel, CSV or PDF): that every value in the answer exists and is right.
- What you asked for: fields, counts, order and date filters.
- Diagrams: that nothing overlaps, that every label fits in its box, and that every arrow connects the requested boxes.
How do you fix hallucinations in ChatGPT, Gemini or whatever AI you use?
You don't have to switch AI. LIA Engine sits between your systems and the AI you already use:
- Connect your AI with your own key: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and more. For developers, it's a one-line change.
- Your AI answers, LIA checks. If it finds an error that can be calculated, it corrects it; if not, it asks your AI to fix it, with the exact data.
- You get the answer with its certificate, or the exact reason it couldn't be certified.
Can AI answers be certified?
Yes. Every answer LIA checks comes with a digitally signed certificate (Ed25519) listing the rules it meets. Anyone can verify the signature and confirm the answer wasn't changed afterwards. If you want, you can publish the certificate with a link to share with your client or your team.
Just as important is what it doesn't do: if LIA couldn't verify something, it doesn't certify it. A LIA certificate never comes with an answer that failed its checks.
Does it work? The numbers
In our internal test bench (October 2026, with sample data), the same AIs scored 25 to 100 points more correct answers depending on the task, with no wrong number certified. In the electronics test bench, an AI on its own got 0 of 24 tasks right; with LIA, 23 of 24.
